CNC portal machining centre

Everything but not ordinary - Pabst extends its production facilities

5-axis CNC portal machining centre for the machining of special glued laminated timber components.

This plant enables the free processing of solid timber components with lengths of up to 47 metres in all dimensions. A wide variety of tools such as drills, shapers and saws are controlled fully automatically.

In this way, very complex components can be processed quickly, efficiently and precisely.

The straight or bent girders made of glued laminated timber are transported online from laminated timber production to the portal processing centre. This enables shorter throughput times and ideal quality control.

New opportunities opened up

By high-tech load-bearing elements of Pabst

The task of the new facilities is the quick, efficient and cost-effective production of complex load-bearing systems. In this way, it is intended to give timber construction businesses which do not dispose of these technical means the opportunity to handle complicated and large-scale timber construction projects as well.

Delivered all ready to your construction site

However, the activities are not only limited to a purely mechanical processing of the components.

All structural elements, no matter their dimensions, are painted in a wide variety of colours directly after trimming. The suitable industrially coated façade boarding made of deal or larch can be produced in the factory in Obdach in order to ensure a maximum of comfort and quality for the customer.

Before dispatch, hardware such as flanges, screwed connections or BSB connections is fitted as well, if required.

BSB - new horizons for the construction of load-bearing timber structures.

As an absolute specialty, the know-how for the manufacturing of high-strength BSB connections has to be stated.

In cooperation with Blumer Lehman AG (CH), Zeltweg can produce highly precise, high-performance and aesthetically pleasing connecting systems for rod-shaped load-carrying timber structures.
The combination of glued laminated timber, steel sheets and groups of small drift pins enables an optimum force transfer.
